The Information and Contemplation Salon gathers monthly to talk about our interest in the overlap of information studies and contemplative studies. We work and think together about how these disciplines can inform and enrich each other. We share contemplative practices like meditation and art creation, and we collaborate on scholarly papers and presentations that invite others into the conversation. Meet our members.
What is a salon?
Salons originated in Europe in the 17th Century, as both social gatherings and spaces for discussing ideas, where people came together to have meaningful conversations. Salons gave people the opportunity to learn from each other, share interests, and work towards growth, both as individuals and as a society. (Source)
